The island of Formentera is 25 km long from end to end so it isn't very difficult to explore and get to know each of its corners. But to do this you have various options;






Bicycling around Formentera

Without any doubt the best means of transportation in Formentera is the bicicle, not only because it is the least polluting but also, you can reach every part of the island, roads that you can't even use with a scooter, for example Formentera green routes can only be used walking or cycling. In addition, main roads are good and almost all of them have bike lanes.



Another advantage of cycling is parking in Formentera, even more so if your visit is in July or August when it is impossible to park a car!



If you ask at the Tourist Office upon arrival at Puerto de La Sabina you can get informed on organized tours available for cyclists. Especially if it is the beginning of your visit and you don't know the island yet.



But be aware if you choose this option that you have to be in shape or at least be used to cycling! The island is small and the distances are short but it's full of ups and downs and in the sun, this can be very unpleasant if you are not used it!
